So, can you see what direction I am going for for this post? Yes, you guessed it CHASS! It is ultimately my favorite sector of NC State and that has absolutely nothing to do with me being a CHASS major…okay maybe a little bit. The College of Humanities and Social Sciences have so much to offer: a multitude of varying degrees (over 50) & minors, numerous internship possibilities, the diverse classes, students and faculty, research opportunities, etc. CHASS is one of the largest colleges at NC State University—with 5,200 students. CHASS awards more undergraduate degrees than any other college on campus—so yes we are pretty awesome.

There is always something on the calendar when it comes to CHASS! One day you might attend an East Asian Film Festival, a creative workshop, Nonprofit Career Fair, Social Work Symposium, Peace Corps and International Development workshops, or a CHASS Fest!
I attended the FAMOUS and highly anticipated CHASS FEST! (Cue fireworks).
“CHASS Fest is a multidisciplinary celebration of all CHASS majors. The goal of the festival is to build relationships between faculty and students across CHASS disciplines and we hope to create a fun atmosphere where you might even learn something new”—Interdisciplinary Studies Corner.
So Michelle (Also another fabulous intern) and I went on an adventure to learn about the different departments within CHASS, listen to good music, interact with other students, play all sorts of games (Michelle won the game by guessing the correct language the sentence was in), and of course the FREE FOOD! Free food will become one of your favorite things while at college.
Here at State, organizations try to put education and entertainment together instead of your boring walk through of boards and constant “This is what we do….yup”.
The FEST event provided a fun and entertaining way to learn about what CHASS has to offer—whether it is majors, minors, student organizations, faculty, research/internship opportunities, etc. This is just one of the many events at NC STATE! GO PACK!!!!!!
