Welcome back to a new semester, I hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! The beginning of the end is here already. I spent my break packing, unpacking, and then repacking as I balanced traveling and moving back home for the semester.
It is so hard to believe that I just started my last semester of my undergraduate career here at NC State. Unlike most of my classmates, I will be completing a semester long internship this spring in lieu of a regular course load as part of my Social Work degree. The easiest way to explain this internship is that it is like student teaching for social workers– we work 32 hours a week for a single organization and get fully immersed in the day to day roles of a social worker. I will be working at the United Methodist Family Services in Richmond, VA in their Therapeutic Foster Care unit. The different assignments and experiences I will have will all help me become a more confident and capable social worker in the future.
